Windows to the Past: Lehigh County Image

EVENT DETAILS

Photographer Matthew Blum will highlight buildings in Lehigh County that are on the National Register of Historic Places such as the Burnside Plantation, Haines Mill, and Americus Hotel. Each photograph is printed using various historical photo printing techniques, such as cyanotype, tintype, gum bichromate, albumen, and palladium.

Inspired by Matthew’s exhibition, our Photography class, with instructor Heidi Reuter, will be having a student show in our Rodale Family Gallery, titled, Views of the Present: City of Allentown. These students have photographed and printed local photos of Allentown, using the silver gelatin process in our darkroom.

Join us Third Thursday for our closing reception! Light fare, wine and other beverages will be served.

One of the pieces that Matthew captured in his exhibition is Trout Hall. To compliment this piece, we will be having a special guest from our neighbors, the Lehigh County Historical Society, visit our galleries to give individuals a special presentation on Trout Hall! Join The Baum School of Art and the Lehigh County Historical Society on Wednesday, November 13th at 12:00-12:45pm. Enjoy a cup of coffee and learn about one of the oldest buildings in Allentown!

These events are free and open to the public. All ages are welcome!
